Brian Safran, who took the below pictures, some time before 2012, reported that this 1948 model Sedan was just rotting away, when he first saw it. The owner lived in another state and paid the tie-down fees, but did nothing else for the plane. She refused to sell it, saying that she loved her baby.... In 2016, Chester Nelson of Little Falls, Minnesota, drove out to Sumter, South Carolina, and bought it. He states:
"N1209H is a junk airframe. It's completely rusted through. I picked it up for some extra parts. The wings, the tailfeathers and the engine are still good."
