When Jerry Heykoop of White Lake, Michigan, decided to sell his 1949 Sedan, in June 2014, he had owned it for 30 years! At the time, hew wrote us:
"I have decided to put my plane up for sale. It is based at my home on Pontiac Lake, Michigan, USA. Since 1992, I have had the opportunity to introduce nearly 300 kids to aviation through the Young Eagles Program. In 1996, I completely restored my Sedan, sanding to bare metal, then applying an epoxy primer and fresh paint. Restoration also included new Poly-Fiber fabric, windows and upholstery. In 2009, the engine received a complete overhaul by Magnum Engines of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, USA, including new mags, harness, tach and B&C lightweight starter. N1337H is on tight EDO 2000s (landing gear included) and has a Continental C-145 engine (150 hours SMOH). TT airframe is 4100 hours. Avionics include a King KX195B TSO COM, King KT76A transponder, Garmin 150 GPS, Sigtronics SPA-400 intercom and a JPI EDM-700 engine monitor."
In May 2015, Jerry informed us that N1337H had found a new home with Cranston "Cran" Jones of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, USA.
The date and location of photo 01 are unknown. Photos 02-07 were used to advertise the airplane, in 2014. That's Jerry in the pilot's seat in picture 02.
